A fine selection of furniture and collectables from Melbourne homes will ensure plenty of buyer interest in E.J Ainger’s forthcoming auction from 9.30am Tuesday June 26 at 433 Bridge Road, Richmond.

One of the highlights is a mahogany sideboard built by Davidson Bros from Aberdeen Scotland (lot 729) while another is the four-door breakfront display cabinet with bronze and ormolu mounts (lot 749).

An Edwardian walnut breakfront Beaconsfield wardrobe (lot 753) is another drawcard along with several secretaire bookcases, French queen size bedsteads and marble top bedside cabinets.

Other attractions include gilt metal and glass basket chandeliers, Persona rugs and several large and ornate gilt mirrors.

The auction also features oil paintings and watercolours by Australian and European artists (lots 418, 452 and 453), a Royal Albert Coventry rose pattern dinner service (lot 439) and several French and American mantel clocks (lots 469, 482 and 692).
