Got a few thousand to spend on jewellery? Then head to Young’s Auctions this Friday October 30 when, from 9.30am, several gold and diamond rings in the $3000-$6000 price range will be up for grabs.

Perhaps the pick of is lot 99 – a striking one-carat central diamond. Another is a three-diamond ring bound to excite auction goers.

There are several quality antique furniture pieces from a Nyora couple who have recently moved to a retirement village.

Included is a Victorian cedar bookcase and wardrobe, 1920s maple chest of drawers and bedroom suite, and an Edwardian hallstand.

For those devotees of modern furniture there are plenty of lounge suites and dining settings from which to choose.

Unusual is the Melbourne Metropolitan Fire Brigade helmet along with several interesting porcelain figures.
