The contents of an enormous storeroom sealed since 2003 has added an air of mystique to E.J. Ainger’s forthcoming weekly sale from 9.30am Tuesday May 3 at 433 Bridge Road, Richmond.

Luxurious lounge, dining and sitting room, and bedroom furniture are among the items along with gilded and decorative mirrors and rugs.

There also are Chesterfield settees, a superb Victorian exhibition display cabinet, bookcases, a cedar four-door sideboard, and large extension tables and chairs.

The last weekly sale before Ainger’s special auction on May 21 and 22, this is an auction that features estates and private consignments from Malvern, Kew, Lower Plenty, Toorak, Armadale and South Yarra.

Other furniture includes retro teak sideboards, tables and auto wagons and an extensive range of occasional furniture and down filled settees and chairs.

There also is a book library, a huge collection of oil paintings, watercolours and graphics and continental ceramics, crystal, glass, silver, jewellery, Persian and contemporary rugs.
