Seekers grand piano can be sought at auction

A grand piano purchased in 1973 in Switzerland by Judith Durham, lead singer of the famous Australian group The Seekers, will be part of Leonard Joel’s weekly Interiors & Jewellery auction from 10am Thursday July 13 at 333 Malvern Road, South Yarra.

The piano – an ebonised C. Bechstein circa 1898-1902 – was shipped to Australia and has remained in her personal posession until now.

Over the years, Judith has composed many songs on the instrument including Australia Land of Today, Hold on To Your Dream, It’s Hard To Leave, In Your Love, Wales You’re a Dreamland, I Celebrate Your Life My Baby, All IN Good Time, Phone Love, The Hand That Rocks The World, Andre, and Stop and Care (Hey! Hey! Hey!).

The auction comprises four sections – furniture, jewellery, art and objects & collectables.
