A collection of stamps and postal history on annotated exhibition pages – awarded a silver medal at the 2013 Tel Aviv Multinational Stamp Exhibition – should bring philatelists running at Mossgreen’s forthcoming Stamps, Coins and Postal History auction from 1pm Tuesday December 9 at 126-130 High Street, Armadale.

The collection contains 64 complete exhibition sheets and covers stamps and covers issued during 1918, Jerusalem I, II and III stamps and Somerset House and Waterlow printings issued to the end of 1921 – and carries a catalogue estimate of $20,000-$25,000.

Another interesting item is a registered airmail and commercial cover dated June 25, 1937 addressed to G.J. Coles Pty Ltd in Melbourne and containing an extraordinary five £1 postal union Congress stamps.

Also intriguing is the 1958 die proof two-shilling stamp featuring Qantas Round-the-World Service, numbered 17 and presented to the Australian Governor General of the time, Sir William Slim.
