A range of antique crystal, silver plate, jewellery and art will be the highlights of Melbourne auction house Young’s Auctions special sale from 9.30am Friday October 17 at 229 Camberwell Road, East Hawthorn.

Auction goers will have a massive number of items from which to select – with statues, clocks and tea caddies made from tortoiseshell and Australian blackwood also prominent.

Oriental china is another feature along with Aboriginal artefacts including antique boomerangs and clubs.

A range of retro 1950s and 1960s furniture should attract auction goers to Young’s Auctions latest weekly sale from 9.30am Friday October 3 at 229 Camberwell Road, East Hawthorn.

The furniture includes a four-piece turquoise vinyl lounge suite comprising two settees that can convert to beds and two matching armchairs.

Other retro items of interest include a set of four red and white spotted vinyl dining chairs and a floor lamp.

Among the modern furniture on offer is an Italian Natuzzi leather lounge suite and brand new bedroom suites.

Antique rifles and pistols auction a collector's dream

A collection of antique rifles, pistols and flare guns are among the highlights of Young’s Auctions weekly sale from 9.30am Friday September 26 at 229 Camberwell Road, East Hawthorn.

The collection includes an 18th century flintlock shotgun and 19th century percussion shotguns and rifles.

One of the rifles, an over/under percussion cap example is by well-known maker of the time Josh Golcher. Another is an antique Kentucky rifle with an octagonal barrel.

A collection of clocks and Russian pieces will entice auction goers to Young’s Auctions next weekly sale from 9.30am Friday September 5 at 229 Camberwell Road, East Hawthorn.

The clocks are unusual – one a French slate and bronze timepiece, complete with a young woman and dog sculpture on top, and three others featuring intricate lace bronze work.

A significant component of the auction is jewellery put aside specially for the sale and incorporating rings, earrings, gold bracelets and necklaces and sizeable gold nugget.

A comprehensive selection of quality wines and porcelain are among the highlights of Young’s Auctions latest weekly sale from 9.30am Friday August 22 at 229 Camberwell Road, East Hawthorn.

The wine selection includes bottles of Penfolds 707 Shiraz, Henschke Shiraz, Majella Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon and Rockford Cabernet Sauvignon.

Among the porcelain is a selection of Copeland Spode vases as part of an ongoing supply from a Camberwell vendor, a collection of Royal Doulton Toby jugs and floral china.

Waterford crystal brings auction crowds

Waterford crystal centrepieces, decanters and glasses – many still in their original boxes – continue to be strong drawing cards at Young’s Auctions weekly sale from 9.30am Friday August 8 at 229 Camberwell Road, East Hawthorn.

Owned by the one vendor, the crystal is being auctioned over several weeks and has attracted plenty of interest from auction goers.

The auction also is notable for two large estates of smalls and furniture that have filled up much of the auction room.

Designer contemporary furniture has auction appeal

Auction goers looking for designer contemporary furniture can do worse than visit Young’s Auctions latest sale from 9.30am Friday at 229 Camberwell Road, East Hawthorn.

A major feature is a ball chair (like a Grant Featherstone egg chair but only round) and creative Herman & Herman pieces that include a dining setting and unusual armchair.

The vendor recently used these to decorate apartments for sale in Melbourne.

Other furniture from a store that is closing is Hampton in style and includes couches, occasional chairs and tables.
